Our first match of the new millenium is now over, and it went very well. 23 shooters braved the 40 degree weather to enjoy our first ever January match. Our 85 round, 5 stage match proved to be a fun match for open and limited shooters alike with varied stages appealing to the finest attributes of both types of firearms.

The first stage was classifier 99-60 "Cut and Run". Mig was the top Open shooter with a 14.84 second run and Bob Shaffer posted a 12.83 limited run priving that the no shoot popper and soft cover were no threat to iron sights.

Our old friend standards made it's return to Izaak Walton and Tino Dimattina(89) and Erik Lund(88) nearly maxed out the stage capturing almost all of the possible 90 points with their shooting, reloading, strong hand and weak hand skills.

Next came a little speed shoot with the gun coming off the table and shooting some targets with a couple of no shoots and a reload to keep things interesting. Erik Lund again took the limited stage with a 6 second run and Mig followed closely behind also in the six second range for the open win.

The center back pit hosted a stage with a port, and a door, and a couple of widely spaced poppers. Bob Shaffer found the steel and 8 paper in 14.13 seconds for the limited team and Kevin Solito posted a stage win at open with a 16.43 second run.

The final stage was kind of a wall stage with 24 rounds of paper and steel separated by partitions. Howard Thompson posted a limited stage win with a 15.43 second run and Mig showed off his open gun again with a 17.85 second run.

The Open match winner was John Migliaccio and Limited was won by another Virginian Erik Lund. Our class winners: A open- Greg Gruendler, B open- Kevin Solito, C open- Valentino Dimattina. M ltd- Bob Shaffer, A ltd- Mike Brakel, B ltd- Howard Thompson, C ltd- Curtis Boggs, D ltd- Dennis Viar Jr. U ltd- Randy Chapman

Thanks to everyone who helped run the match and the shooters who came out to prove their dedication to our sport. We intend to have another match in February if the weather allows us. Don't forget that March is our annual house gun match and we've already got some wicked stuff brewing.

Results should be attached. There is one correction that will be made to them. Valentino Dimattina was open. The corrected results will be available at our website <http://www.geocities.com/paipscshooter/> This correction should have very little effect on anybodies scores(except Tino's)
